Welcome back to the Hearts of the West team blog hop July edition. If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my heart consultants from the hearts of the west and team members from all over Canada and is founded by Nancy Klein. This month's challenge is a celebration of our beloved Country's Birthday!
A fun little fact...Canada is turning 147 years old. This month our challenge is using red and white.
...
This month is a challenge for sure, we are able to use the basic color pallet for accent colors. Grab your coffee, sit down and join us on a journey of creative paper crafts from the Heart!
If you came from Freya Dunbar - http://freyassimplecreations.blogspot.ca/2014/07/july-hearts-of-west-blog-hop.html You're in the right place, this is a go around blog so you can start anywhere you'd like. The full list is at the end in case.
I decided to make a simple Thank You card for this blog hop. I ended up making 3 different styles of this card and I couldn't make up my mind which to use, so I'm sharing all 3.
As you can tell from this picture the cards are all somewhat the same just. I just played around with the matting of each one.
For this card I used a black card base of 9" x 6" . I than took white cardstock and used the CTHM Damask embossing folder to give the cardstock some texture. I used the remarkable wreath stamp set to make the wreath ( retiring). I first stamped the wreath using desert sand ink and than I used coca ink for wreath. I than used cranberry ink to stamp the flowers and the Thanks banner. I cut out the banner and used 3D foam tape to pop up the banner and I made little bows with white twine for each end of he banner. The ribbon is cranberry grosgrain (retired) that is tied to the side of the card.

This card above is the same just used the cranberry cardstock instead of the white. I sand the cardstock after I embossed it for a distressed look. The card below I used the cranberry cardstock but just left it plain. I like how all the cards turned out and each just a little different from the other.
