Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. Been very busy the last few weeks planning and attending our last 2 scouting camps of the year. Now that those are over and scouting is done until September I can get back to crafting.
Today I will share he Father's Day card I made for my CCE group on FB. The theme was anything manly, so I a card that could be used for any occasion. I chose to use this card for Father's Day.
For the card base I used black cardstock. I used CTMH Buttercup cardstock for the first layer. I then cut another piece of Buttercup and used it for the sunset. To make the sun, I punched a circle out of a sticky note, making sure that you have the sticky edge on the edge of the circle. Once you have he circle placed where you want, go ahead and sponge the sunset. I used CTMH creme brulee, buttercup, goldrush and sunset ink. I start from the top with the lightest colour, and work my way to the bottom of the paper and layer with the next darkest colour and so on until you have the look you want.
For the mountains, I used outdoor denim, a metallic black and black cardstock. I used School Plantin Cricut cartridge to cut the mountains and the trees for the backround. I used a brown metallic paper for the trees using Dee's Distinctively Die called branch set 1. I also used a Dee's die called Deer 1 and Deer 2 to cut the deer from black glitter paper. I stamped the simple life in black ink and inked the edges with the same colours I used for the sunset and layered it with black cardstock. I used 3D foam tape to pop up the banner. I used the buttercup for the inside of the card.
I had lots of fun making this card and I hope that my Dad and my hubby like their's. Well that's all for today. Tomorrow I will share the birthday card I was asked to make. Thanks for stopping by!

Pop- Up Box Card
I would like to say Thanks to everyone who stopped by to check out my blog and all the other amazing creations made by some very talented ladies!!! You ladies ROCK!!
Today I'm sharing the card I made for my youngest son's 11th birthday. My son is a huge lover of cars and trucks, basically anything with 4 wheels and is big! So I made him a box card with a Monster truck. I got the directions for this card from Splitcoasterstampers. I will post the video on how to make this card at the bottom.
I used CTMH ProPlayer paper, slate cardstock and white cardstock.
For the top panels of the card I cut 6 pieces of solid cardstock at 2 5/8" x 2 5/8" , and 6 pieces of printed paper at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". I cut 2 panels of solid cardstock at 2 5/8" x 6 1/4" and 2 pieces of printed paper at 2 1/2" x 6 1/8". For the bottom panels I cut 3 panels of solid cardstock at 2 5/8" x 3 5/8" and I cut 3 panels of printed paper at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". All sides should have paper on them but the bottom 3 panels inside.
Once you have all the panels in place go a head a glue the box together ( the small strip) than you can add the 1" x 4 3/4" pieces you cut earlier to the inside of the card. Glue the folded ends to the sides of you card.
Once you have all this done you can decorate your card. The stamps I used are CTMH sest called: Cruisin, Fast and Furious and Maximum Power. I used acetate or clear plastic package works to make the stamps stand up. I used 3D foam tape on the Fast and Furious to make it pop up.
Here is the video for complete directions.
My son just love this card for his birthday! I thought this card would be difficult but it was really very easy to make.Well thanks for stopping and checking out what I've been up to!

June's Hearts of the West Blog Hop
Welcome to The Hearts of the West Team blog hop. June Edition! I'm so excited to be in this blog hop as its my very first one!!!
This month's color challenge has been picked by Nancy Klein. It's soft color pallet perfect for this time of year. The project is open to our choice to keep it simple.

If you came from http://mystudiowithaview.blogspot.ca/2014/05/june-hearts-of-west-blog-hop.html then you're on the right track. This is a circular blog hop, if you get lost or want to start at the beginning. You can find the list down below.
For this blog hop I decide to do a scrapbook layout. I don't do a lot of scrapbook layouts but I wanted to challenge myself and the colours seemed the right choice for these pictures.
For this layout I used Blush cardstock for the background paper. In the corners I used an old SOTM called Baroque Border in Hollyhock ink. I than used CTMH Artiste Cricut cart to cut the dollie at 11" in white cardstock.
I used white and hollyhock cardstock to mat the pictures. For the banner in the top corner, I cut by hand strips of Barn Red, Olive, Sky and Crystal Blue cardstock to make the banners. I used CTHM Artbooking Cricut cart to cut Hailey's name. I punched small holes in each corner and weaved the banner with Smoothie twine. I used some retired designer rhinestone brads hang the banner from. I also used 3D foam tape under each banner to give it dimension.
For the bottom of the page, I made another banner using the same cardstock but adding some printed paper from the Ariana paper Packet. I cut each banner by hand but I used the Artbooking cart to cut out the sweet and Little banner. I used some Bitty Sparkles on the edge of the Sweet and Little banners. I also used 3D foam tape to pop up some of the banners. I some retired Hollyhock flower ribbon on top of the banner.

Hostess Thank You's.
Well as I mentioned yesterday, I will be sharing the Thank You card that I will be giving my hostess for having a CTMH home gathering. I decided that this card would have pocket inside to hold a little something extra, such a Petite Perks stamp. You could also make into a card to hold a gift card for any occasion that you need.
For this card I used a piece of 12" x 4" Skylark for the inside of this card. You score the paper at 4" and 8". I used my Martha Stewart score board to make the score lines. To make the triangle on each end you will need to score a line on the diagonal from the bottom left corner to the top (inside) of the 4" score line. You will need to do the same on the other end starting with the top outside corner going on the diagonal to the inside corner of the 8" score line.
This video from Splitcoastsampers shows step by step instruction on how to do this. I used this video to help make my card but with a few changes of my own.
I wanted a pocket on this card, so I glued the bottom of the triangle and folded it over to make the pocket on the inside. I added some CTMH Lagoon paper and white cardstock to the inside of the card. I also used the Believe in Yourself stamp set to stamp in the corner of white cardstock. Add this before you glue the triangle, as I decided to add this after and it can be a bit more fussy to get it straight. For the front of the card I used my CTMH Art Philosophy cart to cut the small scalloped circle at 2" that I stamped on and the Lagoon scalloped circle at 2 1/4". The Thanks stamp is from the It's Your Day stamp set that comes with the Cricut Art Philosophy set. I used 3D foam tape to pop-up the center scallop. The piece of chevron paper comes from the edges of the Skylark paper. I added that strip of paper to help open and close the card. I then stamped the dragonfly in Lagoon ink with the stamp from the Skylark WOTG kit. I stamped the dragonfly 3 times and stacked them to give it a 3D look. I added some yellow glitter glue to the wings. I added a piece of 4" 1/2 x 4 1/2" Lagoon paper to the back of the card to give it some more colour.
This card was fun to make and I got to use my favourite paper pack from CTMH. If you are interested in any of the supplies used in this card, you can click on the link up top to have a look at my OBA. Thanks for stopping by today.!

Jungle Banner
As you can see I tend to make a lot banners for friends and family. I was asked by a friend to make this banner to match one that I made for her over a year ago, as the girls will be sharing a bedroom.
I used the foam core broad to make the panels as I do with all my banners. The white cardstock is embossed with the new CTMH Damask folder. Unfortunately its very hard to tell that the paper is embossed. I edged each panel with the light purple cardstock for a finished look.
I used the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge to make the rosettes, butterflies and the letters. I used the Create-a-Critter to make the animals, trees and grass. The parrot is also a Cricut cartridge but I can't remember the name as I borrowed that cart from a friend.
Here are some pictures of the first one I made for the older sister. This banner was my first order and my first baby banner that I had ever made. I had made lots of banners for Christmas and Halloween but not for babies.
As you can see the banners where made to match but with different shades of the pink, purple and green cardstocks. I wanted the banners to match but still be a little different as the girls will have their own personalities.
Well thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back tomorrow with a Thanks card that I made to give my hostesses for booking a home gathering.
